As a homestay host, you have the opportunity to serve as an ambassador to a student that finds himself thrust into a completely foreign environment. You can provide security and a sense of community for this student, which will not only help him in his studies but will give him a much deeper appreciation of who we are as a people.
Additionally, you will have your eyes opened to an entirely new culture. You will get to see the world from a uniquely different perspective.
Indy Internationals will provide the training and orientation to prepare you (and the student) for this relationship. We will always be a resource for you and will walk this path together.
If you are ready to open your home to a student, to share your life with him (or her), then we would like to talk with you. We have high standards for the families that become part of this program because we want this to be a successful relationship that brings divergent people together and possibly even transform people.
As a host, you would receive a monthly stipend that should more than cover any costs. However, our host families do not do this for financial gain. They do it to touch the lives of people they would otherwise never have the chance to meet.
